Zoe Saldana is an American actress who shot to fame after starring as Eva Rodriguez in the 2000 flick "Center Stage", later becoming an internationally recognized talent following her role as Neytiri in James Cameron's Avatar in 2009.
Zoe started acting in 1995 when she was just 17. She worked with a theatre group in Brooklyn called FACES. The group performed plays to help educate teens on issues like drug abuse and sex. Following her work with FACES, she went on to star in the play "Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat" with New York Youth Theater. Her performance was so impressive that she was signed up by a talent agency. In 1999, she made her TV debut in an episode of "Law and Order" and within a year she had landed the role as Eva that launched her career. The film established her as a screen star and she went on to appear in many more films including "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", "Star Trek", "Crossroads" and "Avatar".
She has won numerous awards and nominations throughout her career including an Empire Award, two Teen Choice awards and an ALMA award. Her success has seen Zoe grace countless red carpets, always with a beautiful smile and not a hair out of place.
In conjunction with her impressive acting career, Zoe is also a keen philanthropist, working closely with Haiti relief fund FINCA, and is also heavily involved in autism awareness initiatives.
