Shampoo

Shampoo is designed to remove dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells from your scalp and hair. It is important to wash your hair regularly. However, unless your hair gets very oily very quickly, or you use a lot of hair product, try not to wash it daily. Your hair's natural oil working its way down the strands is actually healthy.

It is important to determine what type of hair you have and chose an appropriate shampoo. Is your hair oily or dry? Or somewhere in between? Chose a shampoo that is suited to your hair type.

A small amount of shampoo is all you need. For short hair, try an amount about the size of a nickel.

Conditioner

Conditioners are made to protect hair from heat and styling damage, reduce friction between both individual hairs and between hair and comb, moisturize and reduce static.

The longer you leave the conditioner in your hair, the more chance it has to attach itself to the cuticle. However, rinsing well is also very important.

Mousse

Mousse can be used on either damp, newly washed hair or on dry hair, for very different looks.
Create a sleek, shiny wet-look by using mousse on wet hair. This will stop your hair from frizz and will have natural movement.
Use it on dry hair to help shape, mould and hold your hair in place without stickiness. Mousse can provide volume, so it is perfect for men with thinning or fine hair.

How to use Mousse - Shake the bottle, tip upside down and dispense a small amount in one hand. An amount about the size of a golf ball is generally enough for most hair lengths. Rub your hands together and apply to hair with both hands from roots to end. For more volume- Flip your head upside down and apply the mousse to the roots of your hair.

Gel

Gel is used for styling hair, scrunching, moulding and sculpting. Hair gels range in holding power - from light hold to extra strength, stiff holds. A good hair gel will moisturize the hair. Steer clear of gels or other hair products that contain alcohol as they will dry your hair.

How to use Hair Gel - Put a small amount in one hand and rub hands together before applying to towel-dried hair. Sculp and style the hair with your fingers. Blow drying your hair afterwards will help set the gel and give you maximum hold.

Pomade/Paste/Wax

Hair wax or paste is used for styling hair, spiking it, smoothing it. Its thickness creates chunky, piecey texture and keeps every hair in place. Many pomades have nourishing and conditioning ingredients. With pomade, paste and wax - less is more. A small amount can go a long way. Too much might give your hair a greasy look.

How to use Hair Paste/Wax/Pomade - Get a small amount on your fingertips and rub your fingers together. Apply to your hair, style and sculpt with your fingertips.

Hairspray

Hairspray can be used as both a styling and a finishing product. It makes your hair look thicker and gives it volume. Spray on wet hair to style and mould. Spray on dry and styled hair to finish and hold your hair.

How to use Hairspray - Spray evenly across your hair and let it dry. Do not hold the hairspray too close to your head.
