Hollywood Hair Trends - The Mod Bob
The bob haircut has returned this season. But not just any old bob - these funky new styles for 2006 are very reminiscent of the Mod styles with angled bangs and asymmetric lines.
The bob looks good on all sorts of different face shapes, and they are so easy to style. The length of the bob can range from ear level to skimming your shoulder.
Slicked bobs with a mod feel can look sophisticated and stylish. For a more fun, party-animal feel, keep your curls or spike it out.
The Mod bob should have lots of texture and slicing to break up the blunt edge. The stylist might razor the ends to get that 'chopped' look. Use hair products like hair wax, paste and pomade to add texture to your hair.
This year asymmetrical bangs are in fashion. Both blunt cut bangs or softer textured bangs are hot this season. The sloping fringe adds extra oomph to your style and can really highlight your features.
How To Style Short, Choppy Hairstyles
- Tip your head upside down while blowdrying it. Point the hair dryer at the roots of your hair and blow your hair against the way it grows to give it extra volume.
- Rub a small amount of wax or pomade between your palms and fingers. Run your hands through the back of your hair from roots to tip, so the hair spikes out.
- Define the ends of your ends with some product. Piece out the ends by rubbing a little wax between your fingers and onto the ends of your hair. Twist the ends so they clump together.
Latest Hair Color Trends
Blondes - Tones of Neutral beige, Oyster, Gold and Pearl added to natural hair color will be the hot look.
We're seeing alot of cool, ash colors, including cooler blondes.
Brunettes - Enrich your color with variations of earthen brown, fawn, mushroom and coal.
Rich dark colors with a few rich highlights peeking out from underneath is so in this season.
Hair coloring this season is all about block colors- bold sections of color that can stand out or not, depending on how you style your hair. Chunky foils are popular, while thin streaks are out.
Hair Color Tips
Don't you just hate it when your newly colored hair starts to fade. It's not drastic, but it is just enough to make your hair look dull. It just doesn't look as vibrant and rich as it did when you first colored it.
Stop your colored and highlighted hair from fading with color enhancing products!
There are 3 types of color enhancers - shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatments.
A color-enhancing shampoo will tone down brassiness, create warmth and camouflage roots without altering professional salon color. Use just as you would traditional shampoo.
A color-enhancing conditioner will extend the vibrancy of color-treated hair by adding moisture and smoothing the cuticle. Apply as you would regular conditioner and leave in for 5 to 10 minutes.
A color-enhancing leave-in will deposit color that lasts until you wash your hair again, giving it added depth and luminosity. Apply to towel-dried hair and do not rinse.
