Zoe Saldana at the Met Gala 2014: hair tutorial
From the article : Zoe Saldana at the Met Gala 2014: hair tutorial
At this year's Met Gala, Zoe Saldana was not only among the best dressed, she also had one of the best hairstyles, too. We just love Zoe's approach to red carpet beauty, mainly because she keeps things understated yet totally elegant. Her hairstyle repertoire also includes a few styles that mere mortals like us can achieve sans personal stylist.
Much as the Met Gala is one of the biggest events on the red carpet calendar, not to mention Fashion's glitziest event of the whole year, Zoe still opted for a (relatively) no-fuss hairstyle. With a little volume, a cute bun at the back, and some face-framing wispy strands at the front, her updo was simple yet very effective.
If you would like to try this style on your own hair, read on!
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one: Scrunch some Volume Inject Mousse evenly through damp hair and blow-dry. Use a round brush to guide the hair as straight as you can, this will give smoother results later on.
Step two: Once dried, spray the roots with High Lift Creation Spray and tease with a fine-tooth comb to build a little extra height. Leave some hair loose to smooth over it.
Step three: Gently gather everything back and twist into a bun. Secure with bobby pins.
Step four: To get a slightly romantic feel like Zoe, tease a few strands of hair loose at the front. These will frame your face and help to showcase your makeup by throwing extra emphasis on your eyes and cheekbones.
Step five: Complete your glam new hairstyle with a generous mist of Bold Control Hairspray. This will give you plenty of long-lasting hold, ensuring your 'do lasts as long as you want it to.
What do you think, could this be one of Zoe's best red carpet hairstyles yet? If not, check out her cute low chignon, it's definitely in close competition with her Met Gala look!
