Wet-look hair is the beauty trend that just won't quit, and, as such, designers have been getting increasingly creative with the ways their models wear it on the runway. Cue wet-look bangs. Slicked right across the forehead and petering out into a loose 'dry'-look texture, this one isn't for the faint hearted.
But, could anyone who isn't a model get away with a hairstyle like this?
Well, yes, actually... it just depends how you wear it.
Helmet hair, really?
There's no denying that this hairstyle is a little ridiculous and not what most people would define as accessible. After all, helmet hair traditionally perceived as a bad thing, but in this instance it's "fashion", darling. So it's on-trend, right?.
Surprisingly, there are plenty of pros, as well as obvious cons, with this kind of 'do, too... seriously.
An adaptable trend
Firstly, this style doesn't have to be as slick or as prominent as it is on the models in the photo above. With just a small amount of Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum, you can create a smooth, subtle wet-look style without looking like you got caught in a torrential downpour. If you're into grunge looks, a style with mixed textures like this could be a great new look for you!
Similarly, the side part doesn't have to be quite as extreme either. Use a tail comb to mark it out just above the arch of your eyebrow for a more wearable look.
Top tip – Team this style with some seriously pared down makeup. The texture of the hair will undoubtedly be the focus of your whole look so keep it fresh with a touch of mascara and bright lipstick at most.
What do you think, could this be a hairstyle you'd like to try? If nothing else, it can help show you what you might look like with a set of side-swept bangs...
