The Cannes Film Festival is a bit like Fashion Week when it comes to spotting beauty trends among the stars in attendance. This year, the L'Oréal Paris spokespeople seem to have a real penchant for all things wavy on the red carpet, a hairstyle trend that seems to have translated well from both the spring and fall runways this year.
From Zoe Saldana to Eva Longoria, they've all fallen for this charmingly natural look!
It style
Alongside some seriously glamorous evening wear – couture gowns, made-to-order dresses, rock & roll bridal looks – understated waves have proved to be a useful tool for creating a sense of balance. If the dress is going to take center stage, it makes sense that everything else is comparatively pared down... apart from the eye makeup of course.
Unsurprisingly, Blake Lively's waves were among the most 'under-styled', playing on the texture of her elaborate Chanel gown. French model Laetitia Casta, on the other hand, went for something a little more sculpted though equally understated with a side-swept look.
Freida Pinto, Liya Kebede and Zoe Saldana all did much to further the cause of wavy ends (as championed by Kate Middleton) while Isabeli Fontana used the waves to really make the most of her gorgeous ombre dye.
Get the look
If you're feeling inspired to try a wavy hairstyle of your own, you might be happy to know that it isn't as difficult as all those glitzy photos might suggest.
Spray the hair evenly throughout with Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray then blow-dry it in twisted sections of hair about 1-2" wide. If heat styling isn't your thing, pin your hair up in two loose buns behind your ears and let nature take its course. Once it's all dry, part your hair on one side with a wide-tooth comb and dig out your favorite lipstick!
What do you think, will you be jumping on board with this glam Cannes hair trend?
