When you have hair that isn't exactly prone to behaving itself, a style that can keep it under control for things like job interviews and weddings is essential. A shame though it may be, an unruly mop isn't often an acceptable look for many formal occasions. The good news is that this doesn't mean you're obliged to wear it in some ultra-severe, side-parted style.
If you have already tried and exhausted the man bun - like many of Hollywood's handsomest, FYI - you may want to investigate the wavy blowback. This style will keep everything back off your face and control your texture without crushing it. Not only that, it doesn't require a super slick finish to do manage all that.
To find out how to recreate the look, all you need to do is watch the video above. You'll also find written instructions in the following paragraphs and a photo tutorial on this page to make things even easier.
Get the look
Step one
Warm a small amount of L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Hyper Fix Putty in your hands. This emulsifies it, making it really easy to apply.
Step two
Work the putty up throughout the hair then pull it back away from your face. Add more putty as needed but use only enough to give you good hold. You want a pulled-together yet subtle finish, not overloaded, gloopy hair.
Step three
Use your hands to shape your hair then smooth it all back with a brush. Double-check the back and you're all set!
