Pigtails are one of those hairstyles that don't immediately seem like a go-to option but, when you consider just how versatile they are, they become a lot more interesting. First of all, there are a lot of different braid techniques to choose from and, secondly, there are many different textures to consider, too.
Beachy waves with a matte finish look great when styled into pigtails. With a slightly unkempt feel, it's a hairdo that can be dressed up or down, depending on where you want to wear it and what kind of mood you're in. We also love the little pomp detail on the model opposite!

Step four: Split the remaining hair in half and braid each side. You can add extra detail by French braiding both halves from the top of your head down... if you want to, that is. Fix the braids at the end with a small hair ties then pull them apart with your hands to make them appear looser.
