The neck and back lines of whatever you're wearing has a huge bearing on the way you do your hair. If you have a high neckline, you'll probably want to choose a style that doesn't overwhelm (read: render invisible) your neck. Similarly, if you're wearing a backless dress, you don't want to cover up how daring you've been with cascading waves.
L'Oréal Paris spokesperson Doutzen Kroes got it just right when she teamed a backless red gown with a chic, very sleek chignon. The low back was such a huge focal point of her look that without an all-up hairstyle like this, the whole thing might have looked messy and unfinished. Fortuneately, Doutzen is a model by trade and knew exactly what to prioritize!

If you want to try this hairstyle for a night out of your own, all you need to do is follow the tutorial below...
Step one
There's no need to wash your hair before you start this tutorial. In fact, it's great for second or third day locks! If you want to, spray some dry shampoo on your roots then brush your hair through, sweeping it all back off your face.
Step two
Tie your hair up into a relatively high pony, securing with an elastic.
Step three
To get an instant 'big bun' look, use an insert. Otherwise, spray the pony with Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray by L'Oréal Paris then tease with a fine-tooth comb. When you're happy with the amount of volume, smooth the pony into a bun at the back and secure with bobby pins.
Step four
Spray your whole style with Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray. Mist some more into the palm of your hand then smooth it firmly over the top of ypur head to tame any flyaways and prevent new ones from forming.
And there you have it, the perfect updo for a backless dress!
