Trend alert, everyone: after the man bun comes the man bob. Whether or not this is actually a 'thing' or merely a secret Tim Riggins homage we haven't been told about remains to be seen, but it's certainly an interesting look.
While tight, edgy styles like the undercut won't be going anywhere anytime soon, it's refreshing to see more relaxed, almost surfer-like hairstyles coming to the fore.
Though not traditionally a formal look, celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom have proved that you can, in fact, rock a lengthy style with a suit as long as you control it accordingly.
(FYI, that doesn't have to mean pulling it back into one of those aforementioned man buns, unless you want to.)
How to style a man bob
The trick is to making a longer cut like this appropriate for a formal setting is to make sure it stays right where you want it.
To do this, apply L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Hyper Fix Putty to slightly damp hair, then sweep it all into place. You can go for a brushed back look, a side-swept style or something neat with a defined part.
The long and short of it
One of the best things about a man bob, or any lengthy cut that falls below ear lobe level, is that it can be a great stopgap for any long haired guys looking to go shorter.
This kind of style will minimize the shock factor of chopping off most of your hair, and leave you with plenty of room to style some different looks.
What do you think? Would you consider a man bob of your own?
