Summer hairstyles come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and one of our favorites is this brushed back wavy look. It has a really fresh feel to it thanks to an almost wet-look sheen and the way it throws the face right into the limelight. If you would like to try this style on your own hair this summer, just follow the simple tutorial below...
What you need:
Brush
Curling iron
Pins or clips
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum
Wide-tooth comb
Step one: Brush all of your hair back, removing all signs of your the part as you go.
Step two: Curl your hair, leaving a couple of untouched inches at the top, using a medium-barrel curling iron. Pin each section up once it has been curled to help it set as it cools.
Step three: Let down the curls then smooth a small amount of Deconstructing Gum from your hairline back through to the crown of your head, adding more as needed. Take care not to overload your hair, just work in enough to hold it all back from your face.
Step four: Pin the hair just behind each ear to hold it in place and you're all set!
With a style like this, it's best to keep your makeup at the 'barely there' end of the spectrum. Anything heavy will only appear overdone and the wet look part of this style is already a seriously eye-catching detail. The clean feel is what makes it work off the runway so, unlike the model in the photo, leave the green eyeshadow for another day. That said, if you want to rock this style on a night out, team it with a bold red lip and go easy on the eye makeup.
What do you think, will you be trying this brushed back look?
