There are all kinds of great street style hairstyles out there, and if you're looking for some bold and beautiful inspiration, look no further than this long half-hawk. Whether you're ready to go for the chop for real, or just want to see how you feel with a faux hawk, this lady might be the one to motivate you!
To create a faux hawk with the haircut you already have (translation: without a scary trip to the salon to shave off half your hair) all you need to do is follow the tutorial below! It can be done with straight or curly hair and is perhaps a lot easier than you might be expecting.
What you need:
Tail comb
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse
Blowdryer
Bobby pins
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Lift Creation Spray
Advanced Hairspray LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one
After washing and towel-drying hair, define an ultra-deep side part and apply Volume Inject Mousse throughout.
Step two
Clip the bulkier side of your hair up on top of your head to give you enough room to work on the smaller side.
Step three
With as manny bobby pins as you need - it all depends how thick/long/curly your hair is - start pinning hair from the small side and securing just past the opposite side of the nape of your neck. This means that when you let down the bigger section of hair, it should cover the pins and create an undercut effect.
Top tip: For extra texture, twist the sections and pull them flat against your head before securing them.
Step four
When the smaller side of your hair has been firmly pinned into submission, unclip the bigger section. Apply Lift Creation Spray to the roots and top sections of hair for more lift and volume.
If you have fine hair, you may want to tease hair too in order to increase the volume a little more.
Step five
Finally, spray generously with Bold Control Hairspray to lock in your style and you're done!
