Slick, wet-look hairstyles can be difficult to pull off, especially when they're really slick. Having said that, there are probably a few brave souls among you who would risk such a look, and you should! Rather than use a conventional gel though, try a less gloopy styling gum instead. The hair will remain flexible so you can reshape throughout the day and you won't get the totally untouchable crunchy finish.
Just follow the tutorial below to master the slicked back look!
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum
Wide-tooth comb
Step one: Take a small amount of Deconstructing Gum and warm it in your hands. This will emulsify the product, making it super easy to spread through your hair. If you have hair that is prone to tangling, you should brush it through before you start, too.
Step two: Work the gum evenly throughout, sweeping the hair backward as you go. Add more gum as needed until you have a noticeable sheen. With styles like this, it's best to start with a small amount of product to build on in order to avoid overloading your hair with an overestimation at the beginning. With a bit of practice however, you will be able to figure out how much you need at the start without really thinking about it.
Step three: Run a wide-tooth comb back through your hair, starting with the top then smoothing over each side. If you hair falls below the hairline at the nape of your neck, use your hands to shape the ends after combing.
