Visible bobby pins are enjoying something of a moment right now. Whether that will turn into a full-blown trend or not remains to be seen but it's certainly a look that makes a lot of sense. After all, a lot of people use a lot of bobby pins, so why not show them off as an accessory? If it's pretty and practical, it's probably a good idea.
This sleek pony is a hairstyle that might be considered a little 'out there', despite its minimalism. The wet look texture, combined with neat rows of contrasting bobby pins, make it a really interesting look and one that is curiously satisfying to try.

What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Iron Straight Heatspray
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum
A LOT of bobby pins in a contrasting colour to your hair
Step one: Start by straightening your hair. Apply Iron Straight Heatspray evenly from roots to ends and flat iron. Work in sections, starting with the bottom layers and working your way up.
Step two: Part your hair to one side and gather your hair into a low, tight pony at the nape of your neck. Use a brush to guide the hair and flatten any bumps if necessary.
Step three: Warm a very small amount of Deconstructing Putty in your hands then smooth it over the top of your hair. You can leave the pony as it is to create a "mixed textures" look.
Step four: It's time to go all out with the bobby pins! You can go for one side only or do both, it's totally up to you. Make sure you arrange then pretty close to each other, starting at your ear and working backwards. That's it!
You could do something similar with a faux half hawk instead if the whole wet-look thing doesn't do it for you.
