If you have a short to medium-length haircut, like a bob, updo ideas might seem a little thin on the ground but there are plenty of them around if you know where to look! Take this short braided hairstyle, for example. It was created with a long(ish) blonde bob cut, and a wavy, tousled texture, resulting in a really cute, tousled updo.
This hairstyle is very easy to achieve and, if you're a little stuck for ideas, you might be surprised at just how flattering it can be!
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray
Two hair elastics
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one: Starting with damp hair, apply Tousle Waves Spray generously from roots to ends. Finger-comb to ensure good coverage.
Step two: Take a section of hair – about an inch or so – and twist it. While holding the twisted section at the ends, blow-dry it completely. Once dry, finger comb the hair to reveal a few loose waves. Repeat this step until all of your hair has a tousled wavy texture. Respray and scrunch once you're done.
Step three: Loosely gather your hair back into a ponytail and secure with a hair elastic – black or transparent is best.
Step four: Braid the pony and secure with another hair elastic to match the one you used in step three.
Step five: To soften the style or to create a more romantic look, tease a few strands of hair loose around your face and neck. Pull the braid apart slightly so it doesn't look severe. Mist with Bold Control Hairspray for long-lasting hold.
That's it! Team this style with sophisticated attire for a balanced look that won't seem too girly.
