Styling short, boyish haircuts is a lot of fun, not least because it takes no time at all compared with a lot of longer styles, leaving you plenty of spare time to relax/go outside/be smug about your super time-saving crop! As seen on models at the Emporio Armani Fall 2014 show at Milan Fashion Week recently, short cropped looks are set to be right on-trend for the rest of the year.
It's a hairstyle that is in keeping with the generally mussed, windswept look that has taken the hairstyle world by storm for both the spring and fall 2014 seasons. The rebellious edge and wispy, carefree texture is very covetable and, happily, very copiable, too!
If you have a short haircut already that you tend to style into a piecey pixie or minimalist bowl cut, maybe this could be a new look for you to think about.
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum
Your hands
Comb (optional)
Step one: Begin by warming a small amount of Deconstructing Gum in your hands. To do this, place the product on your fingertips and rub your hands together to emulsify it.
Step two: Work the gum through your hair, running it from front to back in fast, sweeping motions. Add more product as you go, rather than applying a ton at the beginning. You want to keep the texture of your hair fairly lightweight, so it's best to use only as much gum as you need to hold your locks in place.
Step three: Once you've applied the Deconstructing Gum evenly throughout your hair (run a comb from roots to ends for super even coverage) it's time to start sculpting. Use your hands to scrunch and tousle the hair randomly.
Step four: Shake your fingers through your hair one last time, double check the back, and you're good to go!
