The bob cut might be the hottest hairstyle trend of the moment, but even the zeitgeist's crowning glory can seem a bit "meh" sometimes. The good news is that, as relatively short hairstyles go, bobs tend to have enough length to create a few different 'dos with - like this French braid!
Thanks in part to the advent of bobby pins, it's possible to weave cropped locks back into a pretty plait when you want to do something more than nothing with your hair. To help make the styling process as easy as possible, check out our styling tips below.
Styling tips
1/ Add grip
Braiding is always easiest when the strands have some grip. Working with second day hair is a good idea as the natural oils will have had enough time to move down the lengths of the hair. Using dry shampoo also helps, as the powdery formula of products like Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Longwear Spray help the strands to bind together more easily.
2/ Keep the braid tight
While you're working on it, don't worry about how loose you want your finished braid to be, just keep it as tight as necessary to get the job done. After securing the braid, you can gently pull it out at the sides to loosen it.
3/ Prevent flyaways
To stop flyaways from cramping your style, finish your braid with plenty of hairspray. A brushable product like Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray will tame any existing flyaways and prevent more from forming throughout the day.
