Bun hairstyles and half-up hairstyles can both be worked into some very romantic looks and this little hybrid of the two is among the most romantic hairstyles we've noticed in a while. It's pretty, it's feminine and there is absolutely nothing strict or severe about it. The perfect accompaniment for lace or floral prints, this hairstyle is also a great party 'do.
This style can work with all kinds of hair types from curly to poker straight and doesn't require a whole lot of styling time either.
Blow Out Hairspray or Tousle Waves Spray – depending on what kind of texture you want
Starting with damp hair, spray generously with Blow Out Heatspray and then give yourself a rough blow-dry. This will help give your hair some extra texture to begin with.
Alternatively, you can use Tousle Waves Spray to create some loose waves for a beachy effect or a curl taming cream if you want to relax your natural curls. The possibilities are kind of endless at this point.
Once your hair is totally dry, separate the top two thirds of your hair from the third underneath. Then, sweep the underneath hair forwards over your shoulders while you work on the rest.
Top tip: Leave less than a third loose if you want a really romantic, whimsical look.
Take two medium sections of hair from each side of your head. Pull them back and twist them before intertwining them into a small, loose bun at the nape of your neck. Secure with bobby pins
Leave your bangs loose and pull some strands out at the front to frame your face.
Twist two or more medium-sized sections of hair and wrap them around and on top of the bun to create a more intricate and – obviously – bigger bun. Again, secure with bobby pins.
For added texture, muss the top of your hair slightly with your fingertips before fishing with a generous amount of hairspray.
And you're done!
