Retro hairstyles are as popular as ever on both the red carpet and the runway right now and we have an unbelievably easy up to share with you, fresh from the Eric Tilausch show at Couture Fashion Week SS14 in Paris. As the photo opposite demonstrates so beautifully, this look basically consists of some artfully sculpted bangs and a low bun and while it looks a bit complicated, the reality is that it isn't at all!
Whether you're in need of a new party hairstyle to try, something to wear to a wedding or just a new 'do for no reason at all, you might just have found what you're looking for.
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle CURVE IT Elastic Curl Mousse
Tail comb
Blow-dryer
Curling iron
Bobby pins
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one
After towel-drying hair, define a deep side part using a tail comb and apply Advanced Hairstyle CURVE IT Elastic Curl Mousse evenly throughout before blow-drying. Guide the air-flow in the direction you want your hair to fall when dry.
Step two
Once hair is dry, section off the very front section and bangs on the larger side of the part. Clip them out of the way while you work on the rest of your hair. Then, gather everything that has been left down and twist it into a low bun at the nape of your neck. Secure with bobby pins.
Step three
Let down the front section. Wrap it around large-barrelled curling iron and hold for a few seconds to create one big rolling wave. Fix with Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray and then use a single bobby pin to secure the curl back towards your ear. This will create the classic retro shape you can see on the model.
Step four
Mist again with Bold Control Hairspray and you're good to go!
