As the summer draws to a close (yeah, we don't want to talk about it either) it's time to start thinking about post-vacation haircare. We have some simple tips to help you figure out what your hair needs to revive and strengthen it as we head into fall.
Conditional love
After a summer of sun, sea, sand and chlorine, your hair needs a ton of TLC to make sure it stays healthy and for this, conditioner is essential. Make sure you always use one after shampooing and, once or twice a week, treat your locks to a deep conditioning mask. If time permits, condition your hair, wrap it in an old t-shirt and sleep on it. You may look and feel a bit ridiculous but trust us, you hair will thank you for it.
Let your scalp do its thing
If your hair doesn't get greasy very quickly and you feel comfortable not washing it daily, don't. Natural oils are great for keeping the cuticle well nourished and strong, helping to avoid unwanted damage. You can use a bristle brush to make sure they get distributed all the way down and use a hair oil to treat parched ends. If you feel self-conscious about your roots, use dry shampoo on in-between days.
Use hair oil for everything
Hair oil is basically the little black dress of haircare products. You can use it to aid the drying process, rehydrate and nourish dry ends, create a wet-look style that will lock in some great nutrients, and add shine to dull locks.
Ditch the heat tools
When your hair is in recovery mode, cut it some slack by cutting out heat styling whenever possible. There are a ton of great styles you can achieve without heat, most of which can be done while you sleep!
There you have it, a whole lot of pampering for those lovely locks that kept you Instagram ready all summer long. You have to admit, they deserve it!
