We've all been there. Monday morning + 7am alarm + snooze button = hair disaster. Well, say "hello" to your Monday morning savior! This season's ponytail just got interesting in more ways than one. Ponytails are bang on-trend this season and were spotted all over the catwalks. Here are just a few of the most interesting takes on the classic ponytail.
Pony up
For a chic twist on the simple ponytail, try backcombing the crown to give your style a glamorous 60's feel. Wash and blow-dry your hair as normal, applying a root-lifting spray to the crown section of your hair. When the hair is completely dry, backcomb the crown area using a bristle brush. Next, tie your hair into a ponytail using a hair tie, and gently tease the crown section with your fingers to give it a mussed-up look. Spray with hairspray to finish the look and voila.
Another hotly anticipated look this season is the wet look ponytail . Before creating your ponytail, smooth a high shine gel through the roots of the hair. Leave the mid-section of the hair free from gel, to avoid the hair looking deliberately greasy. Then scoop hair into a ponytail to complete this urban take on a classic style.
If you prefer glossy, sweeping styles that ooze femininity, opt for a ponytail with curled ends. Create a neat ponytail as you usually would, high or low. Use a curling iron to curl the ends of the ponytail. Try curling around 3-4 large sections for a relaxed romantic look. Say goodbye to those boring hair days!
