Messy hairstyles: long fishtail braided pigtails
From the article : Messy hairstyles: long fishtail braided pigtails
Pigtails aren't always the most obvious hairstyle choice for grown ups, but they can put a playful spin on the most serious of looks. With plenty of texture and some pretty herringboned detail, we love these messy fishtail braided pigtails for long hair!
How to style it
Starting with clean, damp hair, scrunch some Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse evenly throughout. An egg-sized amount should be enough but add more as needed if your hair is especially long or thick... or both!
Rough-dry your hair using only your hands and a blowdryer. This will create a seemingly effortless, undone finish. If your natural hair texture needs it, however, use a paddle brush to straighten the hair and complete any finishing touches with a flat iron.
Brush your hair with a boar bristle brush to smooth it after drying, then divide it into two equal, vertical halves.
Fishtail braid each half of your hair all the way to the ends and secure the braids with small hair ties. If your fishtail braiding skills are a little rusty, check out our step-by-step tutorial.
Loosen the braids by gently pulling them apart. To add texture, roll each braid between your palms. You can also back brush random areas with a toothbrush for a bohemian, mohair finish.
Complete the look with plenty of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray to give your braids long lasting hold and to keep frizz and unwanted flyaways at bay.
Have a lot of fun saying "fishtail pigtails" to yourself over and over.
