Why you should try the messy bun
The messy bun is one of those hairstyles that manages to look put-together without looking over the top, and at the same time, it’s easy to achieve and requires very few styling tools and products! The best part is that it happens to be very on trend at the moment. With the rise in popularity of messy styles at Fashion Week and on the red carpet, this messy look has become a must-have.
If you want to get the look, then simply follow the five easy steps in our tutorial...
Get the look
Starting with dry hair, spray styling spray from the roots and along the lengths. As you go, scrunch the hair to create texture.
Using your hair dryer to activate the product, scrunch your hair with your hands as you rough dry it.
Smooth the hair into a high ponytail and then twist it until it spirals into a bun. Use a bobby pin to secure the hair in place.
Use your fingers to gently pull some hair out of the bun for a messy, wild effect. Also do the same with the hair along your scalp to give the style some extra volume.
Spray lightly with hairspray to fix the look in place. Shape the hair just slightly while the hairspray dries and you're finished!
Now you know how to get the messy bun hairstyle, there's no excuse not to try it! Happy styling!
