Try a messy bun

The bun hairstyle is, after the ponytail, everybody's favorite updo. It's quick, easy and can be worn in a whole bunch of different ways, depending on the occasion. Polished buns and silky straight hairstyles all have their place and these styles won't let you down at a job interview or formal dinner, for example. Sometimes though, only a mussed, relaxed style will do, like this messy bun!

This is also a great style to go for if you want to hide greasy roots, or if you're just having a bad hair day. It's all about embracing your hair as it is, without having to worry about styling hair straight before you start!

On the other hand, if you have especially fine hair, you may want to add a relaxed, tousled effect with Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray before you begin. Aim for unkempt beach waves and then brush through for a lightweight, wavy texture.

Step one: Comb your hair through and sweep it backwards, away from your face. Pull the hair upwards and secure into a loose ponytail using a hair elastic.

Step two: Twist the ponytail around into a loose bun and secure with bobby pins. To get that must-have messy finish, pull several strands of hair loose with your fingers at the front and back of your hair. Tease some strands loose from the bun so that they come away from it. For a slightly more extreme look, backcomb these strands gently with a comb. For an even messier look, tease the pony before forming the bun.

Step three: Apply a generous mist of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray for added hold and you're done!
