Messy, textured hairstyles are a big trend this season, and one great way to try it is with a deconstructed updo. It's a simple hairstyle to master and it looks great with long and medium-length haircuts. If you have a few layers, even better, because they make creating a disheveled 'do really easy.
How to style it
Step 1
Starting with towel dried hair, apply Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Thermal Smoother Cream throughout and blow-dry your hair using a round brush to add movement.
Step 2
Once dried, part your hair on your favorite side and brush it through to fix the part in place.
Step 3
Spritz your locks with Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray and curl the ends with a medium-barrel curling iron.
Step 4
After curling, shake your fingers through your hair and gather it all at the nape of your neck. Twist your hair into a low knot and secure it with a hair tie. After securing it, slowly pull the knot down a little to loosen it.
Step 5
Gently pull a few pieces of hair loose at the front to frame your face and soften the look. If you have some, you can also shake some of the shorter layers loose to add to the messy finish.
Step 6
To give the waves long-lasting hold and to keep flyways at bay, complete the look with a generous amount of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray.
