Runway hairstyles aren't always the easiest looks to wear in real life, but occasionally there's an edgy catwalk look that translates easily into your everyday hairstyle repertoire. This half ponytail updo with exposed bobby pins is one such look, and you can find out how to recreate it with the tutorial below!
How to style it
Step 1
Starting with dry hair, spritz Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Iron Straight Heatspray all over. Comb the spray through your hair to ensure even coverage because it will protect your strands from heat damage.
Step 2
Divide your hair into sections and straighten each one with your flat iron.
Step 3
After straightening, mist your hair with Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Strand Smoother Serum Spray to add shine and eliminate any flyaways which may have popped up.
Step 4
Section off the top layers of hair - roughly a quarter of your overall mane - and clip them out of the way while you work on the rest. Use the arches of your eyebrows as guides when sectioning the hair.
Step 5
Gather the loose hair at the nape of your neck and secure it into a looped, half ponytail with a hair tie.
Step 6
Unclip the hair on top and smooth it back over the half pony. Use bobby pins to secure the hair as you work your way toward the nape of your neck.
Step 7
Tie the ends over the half pony with another hair elastic and compete the look with another mist of Strand Smoother Serum Spray.
