When you combine a fishtail braid with a bun hairstyle, the result is a very pretty braided updo that anyone with long hair can achieve. It's the perfect style for a night out, a family get-together, or even a workout, because all of the hair is kept up and off your face.
This hairstyle is as practical as it is pretty, so why not recreate it on your own mane?
How to style it
Step 1
Starting with dry hair, brush your locks to detangle then spray Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Fine Control Hairspray throughout. This will keep flyaways at bay and give you extra grip while braiding.
Step 2
Sweep your hair up into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic. Tightly fishtail braid the pony all the way down to the ends. If your fishtail braiding skills are a little rusty, check out our easy step-by-step tutorial for a quick refresher course!
Step 3
Wind the braided ponytail into a bun and secure it to the top of your head with bobby pins. Four or five should be enough but it all depends on how thick your hair is. To get a messier, more textured finish, loosen the braid with your fingers and gently ruffle it before pinning it into a bun.
Step 4
Re-spray your finished bun with Fine Control Hairspray and you're all set!
For those of you who like to accessorize, you can rock this look with a headband, a barrette, a scrunchie or even a ribbon - it's totally up to you!
