Cool girl hair is defined by a certain nonchalance that usually manifests in messy textures and a generally undone finish, neither of which are generally thought of as acceptable for a wedding. That said, there are a few ways you can get away with a cool girl 'do as a wedding guest, check them out below!
1/ Hair accessories
Try teaming textured, bed head hair with a cute headband or a couple of barrettes to help tame your tresses and tie your whole look together. Neither option will steamroll your strands, but both will give them a bit more polish and make it look as though you put some effort into your hairstyle.
Styling tip
Spray both your hair and bobby pins with a dry shampoo like Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Longwear Spray before putting a headband on. It'll give your hair and your pins more grip, so they'll do a better job of keeping your headband in position.
2/ Messy but not too messy
Bed head inspired hair textures are very cool and totally on trend, but you probably shouldn't show up to a wedding with your actual bed head. Instead, use a 1" curling iron to add a few waves and create some movement to round out the look so your hair appears styled.
Styling tip
Use a texturizing heat protectant spray like Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray to protect your hair and enhance your finished 'do.
3/ Updos
Putting your hair up, whatever texture it has, is a surefire way to make it look fancier - so it's the perfect styling hack for a wedding! If you don't have time to wash your hair, use dry shampoo to disguise any greasiness before gathering your locks into a cute low bun. Pull a few tendrils loose at the front to frame your face and voilà, an effortless chignon!
Styling tip
Backcomb the hair on top and at the crown of your head to create some extra volume before securing the bun.
