Weekends are all about getting up when you feel like it and traipsing to brunch before your favorite spot sells out of eggs benedict: not waking up in time to wash your hair first! To make the most of those precious days off, your mane should take a backseat, but that doesn't mean you should neglect it altogether. Below, we have a few tips and tricks to help you get gorgeous weekend hair without shampoo!
1/ Refresh your roots
While regular wet shampoo isn't the most practical option, use some dry shampoo to absorb excess oil at the root, lift lackluster locks, and add texture from roots to ends. Spritz it on your roots, blend it in with your fingers, then leave it to work for a few minutes before brushing it out.
2/ Add volume
If your tresses are feeling a little flat and lifeless after a party, use a volumizing hairspray on the roots and lengths to get a more full-bodied look. After misting your hair, scrunch and tease it with your hands to add volume, or gently backcomb it to round out the shape.
3/ Add texture
To add texture to your hair in mere minutes, spritz it with a texturizing heat protectant spray, then divide it into four or five sections. Braid each section of hair individually, then flat iron the braids. This will set the hair into loose, tousled waves!
4/ Set it and forget it
When you're done styling, always finish with a generous amount of hairspray. Not only will it give your completed 'do great hold, it also protects against any moisture in the air (i.e. the world's best frizz generator) and adds shine. Just make sure you opt for a brushable product to avoid any unwanted crunchiness.
