Even though ombre hair has evolved over the past few seasons, thanks to 'bronde' shades and balayage, multidimensional ombre tresses aren't about to give up their trend status any time soon. This is fine by us because there are so many gorgeous ways to wear them. The big question is, does ombre hair look better worn up or down? Let us know what you think by voting above!
Ombre updo
Ombre updos need to be chosen carefully as you don't want something that's going to bury those beautiful ends! Textured, messy chignons and buns are failsafe options, as are loosely braided updos.
Styling tip
To get an undone, disheveled finish, apply a texturizing product like Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Tousle Waves Spray to dry hair, then create loose curls with a 1" curling iron. When you're done curling, spritz your hair again and scrunch the ends to break them up a bit.
Loose ombre hair
A loose ombre hairstyle is potentially the best way to show off the depth of color, especially if you take the time to do a voluminous blowout or some glam curls. The movement allows the brighter tones to catch the light in all the right places.
Styling tip
You should always protect your hair before styling, but it's even more important after coloring. Make sure you mist your ombre locks from roots to ends with a thermal protectant spray such as Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Iron Straight Heatspray before reaching for your heat tools!
