Getting bangs cut in is a notoriously big commitment, mostly because growing them out can be a long and often frustrating experience, especially after the never-ending maintenance before you decide to grow them out. During the growing out process, however, it's more important than ever to think about how to style your bangs to keep them out of your eyes – thus not driving you totally crazy – and to make sure they still fit in with the rest of your hair.
We have a few tips below to help you style "in-between" bangs but, before you read those, we suggest you get your hands on a good collection of bobby pins.
Your new best friends
While growing your bangs out, clips, headbands and those handy bobby pins will become indispensable. They basically make it a lot easier to keep everything under control and allow you to have a little more fun with your hair while you do so.
Try something new...
You may have shied away from it in the past but wet look hair is a great style for anyone wanting to hide half grown-out bangs. Slick it all back and no one will ever know, right?
...or stick to the classics
A braided crown can also hide bangs as it allows you to pin them under the braid. Go for a messy braid and any wispy bangs that might escape won't be too noticeable.
If you just want to grow your bangs out gracefully, there's absolutely nothing stopping you from leaving them as they are... as long as you're ok with brushing them out of your eyes as often as you need to. If you do choose to do this, applying a small amount of matte putty to your bangs and then sweeping them out towards your ears can help hold them in place. Just take care not to apply too much product.
After all that, we can only wish you a lot of luck and even more patience as you wait for the day you can finally tuck your bangs behind your ears again...
