Grunge hair is a great alternative to full-on wet-look hairstyles. It has plenty of not-totally-dry texture, without the intimidating slick factor. For a night out, a grunge look teamed with either fresh or bold makeup is a great option. This is especially true for shorter haircuts like a bob.
The really great thing about this style is that it requires hardly any effort to style, and you can totally rock it between washes (read: when visibly dirty). You can also get the look post-shower, too...
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum
Step one: If you do have time to wash and dry your hair, make sure you scrunch some Volume Inject Mousse through it while damp. This will add body and lift the hair as it dries, reducing the risk of 'grunge' becoming greasy later on.
Step two: Rough blow-dry on a medium heat setting.
Step three: Warm a small amount of Deconstructing Gum in your hands then work it back through your hair. Add more as needed but be careful not to overload the strands.
Step four: Use a wide-tooth comb to sweep your hair over to one side. Then, use your hands to scrunch and muss the hair as desired. You want to achieve a lightly tousled, piecey texture.
Step five: Finish shaping the hair with your hands, double check the back, and you're good to go!
This style could be a step on the ladder towards a real wet-look style. So, why not check out these surprisingly versatile wet-look 'dos, too?
