Long or short, the technique for getting a relaxed, piecey hair texture is basically the same. This slightly unkempt long bob hairstyle, fresh from the Devastee Fall 2014 at Paris Fashion Week is a great example of how longer haircuts can totally rock a piecey look.
It's a super versatile hairstyle that takes no time at all to actually do. It's also a look that can be worn with any outfit imaginable. If you want to mix things up a little with a formal outfit for example, a loose piecey hairstyle will give your look a slight grunge feel.
Get the look
You really don't need much to recreate your very own piecey hairstyle. All you have to do is get your hands on a wide-tooth comb or bristle brush, and a jar of Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum.
Step one: Start by combing or brushing your hair through to remove any hidden knots or tangles.
Step two: Warm a small amount of Deconstructing Gum in your hands to emulsify it. Translation: do this to soften it and make the application super easy. To do this, place a little on your fingertips and then rub your hands together.
Step three: Apply minimal amounts of gum through the lengths of your hair. Start small and apply more as needed. You're going for a piecey hairstyle, not a wet-look one!
Step four: Twist random sections of hair loosely and scrunch the lengths of your hair with your hands.
Step five: Once you're happy with the texture, shake your fingers through your hair and scrunch one last time. And you're done!
Told you it was easy...
