Washing your hair may seem like second nature, but did you know you could be getting more out of each shampoo? We've put together a list of things that can help your hair reap maximum benefits from lathering up, whatever your hair type.
Don't use too much
You only need a small amount of shampoo because you only need to lather the roots of your hair. A quarter-sized amount should be enough, but if you have especially thick or long hair, add a little more.
Ignore the 'rinse and repeat' instruction
Rinsing and shampooing all over again can clean your hair too much (yes, it's possible) which can dry out your mane and scalp.
Protect your ends
If you have long or medium-length hair, apply hair oil to the ends before shampooing to protect them from drying out.
Dial down the temperature
Washing your hair with water that's too hot opens up the hair follicle and encourages dryness and breakage. Instead, use warm water to wash, rinse and condition, then run your mane under cold water to finish.
Get the right shampoo for your hair type
It may sound obvious, but make sure you get the right kind of shampoo for your hair type. If you've been using the wrong formula, you'll really notice a difference!
Don't over wash
Depending on how fine and prone to greasiness you hair is, try to wash it only once every other day or less. In-between washes, use Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Blow Out LongWear Spray to absorb excess oil at the roots and keep your locks looking fresh.
