Eva Longoria is a red carpet regular and, as such, she's a great source of 'night out' hair inspiration. Recently, the former Desperate Housewife attended the AFI tribute to Jane Fonda with an ultra-glam wet-look braid that was pretty much the epitome of glamorous party hair. We loved this look because it's really just a regular style with a polished, on-trend finish that absolutely anyone can achieve!
Wet look hair isn't for the fainthearted, however. It may well be a massive runway trend but that doesn't make it convenient for real life... so you need to be brave if you're really gonna go for it. And you really should. This style is dramatic, very practical for dancing, and it looks great with a bold red lip or intense eyes.
To get the look, just follow the simple tutorial below.
Depending on your hair texture, you may want to straighten your tresses first. Spray the hair with Advanced Hairstyle SLEEK IT Iron Straight Heatspray evenly throughout and flat iron. A looser version of this style with natural curls also looks amazing though so go with whatever you like best!
Warm some Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum in your hands then smooth it back through your hair. Smooth your hair back into a pony, using a comb to eliminate bumps.
Apply more gum to the lengths of your hair then tightly braid all the way down to the ends. When you're done, secure the braid with a small hair tie.
Pull the braid out on both sides to loosen it a little then smooth down the top and sides one last time to finish.
If you're game for a wet look braid but would like something a little more forgiving, try a looser side braid hairstyle instead. The hair will be closer to your face and you'll have more room to tousle it which will help to soften the overall silhouette.
