How to Prevent Your Hair from Getting Entangled

Maintaining a beautiful mane is an ordeal. Although we take care of our precious locks by following a good hair care routine, we constantly have to deal with tangles and knots that are not only painful to remove but are also the number one cause of hair damage. Thankfully, you can prevent your hair from getting entangled by following a few simple steps!

1. Use Hair Conditioner

Use a good quality hair conditioner that suits your hair type and texture. It will restore moisture in your tresses, keep them silky smooth and prevent tangling.

2. Use a Wide-Toothed Comb

Use a wide-toothed comb to detangle your hair and remove knots. The bristles are set at a good distance from each other, which allows your hair to slide through the comb smoothly without getting caught up on the way. Fine-toothed combs also tend to levy a lot of pressure on your hair strands and cause them to break. Therefore, they are not ideal for detangling hair.

If your hair is frizzy, it is advisable to work in a tiny amount of frizz vanisher cream through your tresses to lock in some moisture, make hair cuticles soft and smooth, and tame flyways. While detangling your hair, always start with the ends and move up gradually to remove knots without adding extra pressure on your roots.

3. Brush Your Hair Regularly

Not brushing your hair regularly causes knots and tangles to form, making your tresses impossible to manage! If your hair is prone to tangling, you must brush it at least twice a day to keep it smooth and tangle-free.

The best time to brush your hair is before a shower in the morning and before going to bed at night. Use a soft bristle brush to comb your hair gently and free it of all the knots and tangles as you go!

4. Tie Up Your Hair While Sleeping

Loose hair rubbing against your pillow all night is a major reason why your tresses get entangled. The best trick to prevent your hair from getting tangled is to tie it up in a high bun or braids, so that it's under control even when you're fast asleep.

5. Choose Good Products that Suit Your Hair Type and Texture

When it comes to good hair care, product labels must be taken seriously! If a shampoo is for oily hair, you cannot apply it on your dry hair; it will strip your hair of moisture, entangle your strands and make your mane look drier and listless!

The same goes for conditioners and hair oils too. While choosing hair products, stay away from anything that contains alcohol, as it will make your hair frizzy and extremely prone to tangling.

Here's hoping that these hair care tips will help you keep your hair detangled, especially in the fall months!
