Whether you're hitting the gym or the dance floor, these female boxer-inspired braids are a favorite among hairstyle aficionados and celebrities. While they might look intimidating to create, once you've got them mastered, you'll wonder why you never dared them before!
Step 1.
Using a compact and the mirror in your bathroom, give yourself a center part and divide your hair into two even sections. Secure in place with elastic bands (giving you two low ponytails).
Step 2.
Take one of the sections and remove the band. Starting from your forehead, create a Dutch braid. "What is a Dutch braid?" you might ask. Basically, it's a French braid except it is braided underhand (sections pass underneath each other), not overhand.
Step 3.
Move slowly down and continue braiding, adding more hair as you go, following the natural shape of your head, behind the ear, and all the way down to the tips. Secure with your elastic.
Step 4.
Remove the second elastic and repeat on the other side of your head. Don't panic if the braids aren't even, this look is a fighting one, and the ring can get messy!
Step 5.
Fix in place with a light mist of strong-hold hairspray to keep any flyaways from escaping.
And the winner is... You!
