Quiff hairstyles are a runway staple. They look super chic, keep hair off the face and even add a few inches to your stature. Most importantly, they are super easy to create with straight, wavy or curly hair and can be worn to work or to a party.
We'll tell you how to create a perfect quiff to sport with short or long hair.
You'll need:
- A volume inject mousse
- A fine-toothed comb
- A bold control hairspray
- A hairstyling gel (optional)
Get the Look
Step One
To get a voluminous quiff, section off your hair right from the hairline all the way back to the crown. If you're after a more subtle look, just make the section smaller. This is the section that we'll work on.
Step Two
Work in a small amount of volume inject mousse through the front section of your hair. This will give it a good hold, without making it look greasy or heavy.
Step Three
Backcomb the hair section; start at your crown and back brush all the way up to the front. Go gentle as you reach the hairline so that your hair is less teased at the front than at the back. This will help to give your quiff a smoother finish.
Step Four
Smooth out the quiff using the back of your hair brush.
Step Five
Spritz some bold control hairspray on your quiff to have it stay put throughout the day.
Styling
If you have long hair, you can wear it loose, pin it in a half-up or tie it in a ponytail with a quiff in the front. For short hair, just rub in some hairstyling gel to slick back your tresses.
