While most of us would love to roll out of bed with perfect model hair every morning, the reality of making our hair look polished, or more polished than its natural state at least, actually requires some effort. The good news is that it doesn't have to be much effort when you know a few shortcuts!
To help you get the ready-for-anything mane you really want, check out the styling hacks below.
1/ Try a different part
One of the most effective ways to make your hair look pulled together in a hot minute is by styling it with a sharp middle or side part. Make sure the line is as straight as possible, then fix with hairspray to add shine and keep frizz at bay.
2/ Smooth down flyaways
Even when we're done styling a gorgeous ponytail or updo, flyaways still manage to spring up everywhere. It's frustrating, but it doesn't have to ruin our 'dos! To keep flyaways in check, spritz your hair with a strong hold hairspray like Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray, mist your hands with a little water, then smooth down the problem areas.
3/ Fake a blowout
If you struggle to create loose, airy curves and waves with a round hairbrush, you'll be glad to know there's another way. Try blow-drying your hair as straight as you can with a paddle brush, or even your hands, then use a large barrel curling iron to add movement when it's totally dry. Just don't forget to apply a heat protectant like Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Blowout Heatspray first!
When your tresses just can't be tamed, try accessorizing with a headband or a barrette. Not only will this detract attention from any unintentional messiness, it'll also help to tie your whole ensemble together.
5/ Protect your hair while you sleep
When you're between washes, try pinning your hair into a low bun or braiding it loosely before you go to sleep to prevent tangling and excess frizz. This simple trick will, like dry shampoo, help your blowout to hold its shape for consecutive days, and it does a great job of maintaining waves.
6/ Use your dry shampoo properly
If you find dry shampoo doesn't actually make your hair look much better, it could be because you're not leaving it on for long enough. When applying products like Advanced Hairstyle BLOW DRY IT Longwear Spray, hold the can six inches or more away from your roots, then leave the formula to work its magic for at least five minutes before brushing it out.
