We've all been there: you get up in the morning and no matter what you do with your hair it seems to look bad. Before you reach for a hat or hide under the bed covers check out our top tips on how to hide a bad hair day.
Mussed looks are everywhere at the moment from top fashion magazines to catwalks across the globe and they are a great way to turn a bad hair day into a hot new look.
A messy ponytail is quick and easy to create and works best when your hair isn't playing ball. Start by applying volumising spray to damp hair and blow drying with a round brush to create volume. Tip your head forward and gather your locks into a loose ponytail and secure with a hair elastic.
Messy top knot
To create a messy top knot, wash and blow dry your hair with volumising mousse and a barrel brush. Pull your hair up into a high loose ponytail then secure it with a hair elastic - fold over twice. Pull it through for a third time but only halfway to create a very messy bun. Pull a section out from the back of the bun and separate it into two. Twist it around the front of the hairband to hide it and secure using bobby pins and then repeat on the other side. Now pin the bun all the way round the outside to secure. Apply hairspray to finish.
Braids are a great way to create a cute style quickly and easily and a romantically mussed braid is probably the easiest one. Brush you hair to one side of your head and brush out your fringe or if you don't have one, form a side-parting. Now separate your locks into three equal sections and starting with the right hand side weave them over each other one at a time until you get to the end. Then secure with a hairband. Pull a few loose strands out on the other side for texture and there you go.
Pair these styles with glam make-up and people will think you have done it deliberately. See you later, bad hair day!
