As vintage hairstyles go, a classic 1970's look is a must-try. For anyone with medium or long hair, this is actually really easy to achieve! As you can see in the photo above, a few simple waves and a carefully positioned center part are really all you need.
Unlike more intricate retro styles such as rockabilly pomps or 1940's bangs, this look is actually subtle enough to wear in real life. Sure, it's very simple, but it's also very effective! Keep reading to find out just how to get the look...
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse
Blow-dryer
Round brush
Tail comb
Curling iron
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one: After towel-drying to remove excess moisture, scrunch some Volume Inject Mousse from roots to ends. Blow-dry on a medium heat setting with a round brush to guide the hair straight.
Step two: Use a tail comb to define a sharp center part (or slightly off-center if you prefer) and then comb through the hair to fix it into place. Comb the hair forward slightly to frame your face in a very subtle triangular shape.
Step three: Curl the lower two thirds of your hair (from about level with the middle of your cheek down) using a medium curling iron.
Step four: Finish with a generous mist of Bold Control Hairspray for long-lasting hold. This will help to ensure your curls last for up to 24 hours. If you have any flyaways you want to tame on the top third of your head, mist hairspray onto a bristle brush and smooth it over your hair.
Happy styling!
