When L'Oréal Paris spokesperson Laetitia Casta hit the red carpet at this year's Met Gala, we weren't disappointed. Having played muse to the likes of Karl Lagerfeld in the past, she was hardly likely to put a foot wrong. In fact, she put her two feet very, very right in a pair of metallic red peep-toe sandals! As this is a hairstyle website, however, we must point out that we were also quite impressed by Laetitia's glamorously refined updo.
Given the glitzy nature of her Givenchy couture gown, the French beauty used her hair to maintain a sense of balance. Styled into a smooth, almost wet-look chignon, her hair was kept totally under control and, like Zoe Saldana's updo, didn't interfere with her dress.

What you need:

Step one: Starting with dry hair, spray all over with Iron Straight Heatspray then flat iron. Work in sections, starting with the bottom layers of your hair.

Step three: Gather your hair back and pin just above the nape of your neck, leaving the lengths hanging down.
Step four: Divide the hair into large sections and twist them up over the pins to form a chignon then fasten them with a couple more pins.
