Blake Lively is finally returning to the silver screen after a two-year hiatus, which is great news for us! Not only get to see the former Gossip Girl showcasing her impressive acting talent, we can also look forward to some fresh new red carpet hairstyles from the star, too. The L'Oréal Paris spokesmodel can currently be found on the Age of Adaline set in Vancouver, alongside Harrison Ford and Ellen Burstyn. The film, set in the early 1900s, tells the story of a 29-year-old woman who stops ageing after she survives a serious accident.
To celebrate Blake's latest cinematic venture, it would seem that a vintage hair tutorial is in order. One of our favorite looks from her time in Vancouver so far has to be this gorgeous 1930s-inspired ponytail. Keep reading to find out just how to get the look!
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Blow Out Heatspray
Blow-dryer
Round brush
Tail comb
Bobby pins
Hair tie
Curling iron (optional)
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one: Start with towel-dried hair. Apply Blow Out Heatspray evenly throughout and use a round brush to blow dry your hair smooth at the top and curled at the ends.
Step two: Once your hair is dried, use a tail comb to create a side part and smooth the hair over to one side. Grab a 3" section of hair at the front and hold it in one hand, allowing it to fall a bit over your forehead, then curve it back up and secure with a bobby pin. Grab another section of hair and do the same, combing the hair together and rolling toward the back. Stop once you reach the neckline.
Step four: On the opposite side, use a comb to smooth the hair back. Combine all of the hair into a low ponytail and secure with a hair tie.
Step five: If your hair is curly enough at the ends, leave it as is. If not, use a large-barrel curling iron to create big loose curls. Mist your hair with Bold Control Hairspray for long-lasting hold and you're good to go.
Lookin' good!
