Model and confirmed hairstyle goddess Doutzen Kroes was spotted at Berlin Fashion Week with one of the best red carpet updos we've seen so far this summer. With her caramel blonde locks gathered back into a romantic chignon, the L'Oréal Paris spokesperson killed it in front of the cameras! To recreate Doutzen's updo on your own tresses, all you need to do is follow the tutorial below.
How to style it
Step 1
Starting with freshly washed, damp hair, scrunch a volume-enhancing mousse evenly throughout. Then, rough your hair on a medium heat, using your hands instead of a hairbrush to guide the hair. Keep going until your hair is only a little bit damp.
Step 2
Flip your head upside down to complete the blowout. This will maximize the volume and add height at the root.
Step 3
Once your hair is completely dry, spritz the roots on top of your head with a volumizing spray, then massage them with your fingertips to build more height.
Step 5
Use your fingers to draw your hair backwards from the temple and divide into three large sections. Secure the middle section loosely at the back of the head with bobby pins to allow for volume, then draw the side sections together angled slightly to one side. Start creating a mini French twist effect by rolling the hair inward, securing with bobby pins where necessary.
Step 6
Twist the two side sections together with one side wrapping over the other and secure with pins once again. Don't worry about any loose strands, simply gather these up and pin them around the twist to give the look some extra romance.
Step 7
Finish with plenty of hairspray for long lasting hold, and you're good to go!
