We love vintage rockabilly hairstyles as much as we love ombre hair, so we decided to combine the two with this retro ponytail tutorial! It's pretty, it's playful and it does justice to those beautiful ombre ends, what's not to love?
Find out how to recreate the look on your own hair by following the easy steps below!
How to style it
Starting with dry hair, spritz a volume enhancing spray such as Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray all over, paying special attention to your roots.
At the front, lift the hair closest to the hairline, then slowly backcomb it from behind. Make sure you push the hair down, remove the comb and repeat, rather than continuously ripping down through your hair as this can cause damage.
When you're happy with the amount of volume, gently smooth the hair back into a pomp and secure it on top of your head with bobby pins.
Gather the rest of your hair into a ponytail and secure it at the crown of your head. Take a pinch of hair from the pony and wrap it around the base to hide the elastic. Secure it underneath with a bobby pin.
Curl the ends of your pony with a ¾ inch curling iron, then brush the curls through and wind your pony around your forefinger to get a smooth, single curl.
Complete the look with a strong hold hairspray. A brushable product like Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray will make sure the curled ends and pomp last all day, while simultaneously protecting your finished pony from unwanted frizz and flyaways.
