Loose, wavy hairstyles are always guaranteed to look romantic, sultry and very feminine, whether you have Rapunzel-esque tresses or something a little closer to shoulder-length. For waves that look totally natural, and naturally well-behaved, too, one of the best ways to style them is by using a curling iron.
The size of the curling iron you use determines the size of the curls and the heat will fix them into place. This gives you more control over your style than you would get with beach waves or windswept hair, for example.
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle CURVE IT Elastic Curl Mousse
Curling iron (medium or large-barrel)
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one: After towel-drying your hair, apply Elastic Curl Mousse evenly throughout and blow-dry. You can use a round brush at this point to create some initial waves at the end or simply rough-dry and move on to the next step.
Step two: Use a wide-tooth comb to define a side part or a slightly off-center part then comb the hair through. Don't use a bristle brush or fine-tooth comb as this will make the hair appear too uniformly smooth.
Step three: Take your curling iron and create some big waves through the lengths of your hair. If you want a really relaxed look, choose a bigger iron, especially for the front sections of hair or bangs. Comb it through again once you're done.
Step four: Spray all the hair generously with Bold Control Hairspray and then muss and tousle it a little with your hands. This will create a slightly unkempt, bedhead look. And you're done!
You can dress this hairstyle up with intense eye makeup for a night out or keep things simple with something more natural during the day.
