Getting a statement haircut is like a lot of things, you just have to do it to know what it's really like. That said, a mohawk is a pretty serious hairstyle commitment and the decision shouldn't be made lightly. So, what do you do?
Simple, you fake it!
With copious amounts of bobby pins and hairspray, you can construct a pretend mohawk that will look great for a night on the town, but won't leave you wishing for your long locks back the following day.
How to style it
Starting with towel-dried hair, scrunch Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT Volume Inject Mousse evenly throughout then rough dry.
Once dried, section off the hair on top of your head. Using the arches of your eyebrows to guide you, gather the hair from the front, all the way back to the crown, and clip it up out of the way.
Warm a small amount of Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Hyper Fix Putty in your hands then use it to smooth the hair at the sides flat against your head. Comb the hair to further flatten it, then pin it back tight behind your ears.
Let down the hair on top and spray the roots with Advanced Hairstyle BOOST IT High Lift Creation Spray. Hold the hair up and tease it from behind, then pin it into a messy pomp.
Along the top, at the crown and at the back of your head, twist and pin the hair up in voluminous, messy twists. Use some more putty for added hold if needed.
Complete the look with a generous veil of Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray and you're all set!
