Half-hawks aren't for the fainthearted or hairstyle commitment-phobes... but that doesn't mean they can't be done on a temporary basis. If you aren't exactly jumping up and down at the thought of shaving half of your head, you can just fake it with a wet-look side sweep! With this style, you'll get all the drama of half-hawk with none of the growing-out pains/infinite regret on the off chance it was the wrong decision for you.
Trying a faux half-hawk is also a great way to find out whether or not you want a real one. The silhouette is more or less the same, as is the amount of movement you're left with on the longer side.
To find out how to get the look, just follow the tutorial below.
Get the look
Step one
Brush your hair through to remove any tangles then flip it all over to one side. It doesn't matter which side you choose, just go with whatever feels most natural.
Step two
Work a small amount of regular strength gel through your hair, using sweeping motions in the same direction as you flipped it. Use a wide-tooth comb to smooth the gel over the top and the side with less hair, then flatten it against your head.
Step three
Pin the smaller side down at the back then scrunch the loose hair on the other side to add texture. Complete the look with a generous helping of L'Oréal Paris Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Fine Control Hairspray. This will add shine and give you up to 24 hours of great hold.
What do you think? Could you get on board with this daring look?
