There are a lot of hairstyles out there that look great on other people but are likely to send commitment-phobes running for the hills. Dreadlocks are definitely one such style. They always look really cool on anyone brave enough to get them for real but they're not exactly an everyday hairstyle for a lot of people. The good news is, however, that you can get dreads on a temporary basis!
Yes, that's right, you can absolutely 100% fake it and we have a tutorial below which explains just what you need to do...
What you need:
Advanced Hairstyle TXT IT Deconstructing Gum
Divide your hair horizontally into two halves and clip the top half out of the way. As with a lot of styles, it's just easier to start at the bottom and work your way up.
Warm a small amount of Deconstructing Gum in your hands then work it through one large section of the loose hair. Twist this section then roll it between your hands. With a fine-tooth comb, tease it all the way up to add more texture then roll it again. Add more gum as needed and don't worry if you overdo it, no one will be able to tell!
Repeat step two on the rest of your hair until your whole head is full of gorgeous fake dreads. When you're done, you can gather a couple of dreads back to create a half-up style like the girl in the picture, leave them down or put them all up into a large, loose updo.
When you want to wash them out, make sure you load up your hair with a ton of conditioner and use a wide-tooth comb to gently work out the inevitable tangles. Wash and condition the hair afterward then rinse as normal.
What do you think? Are fake dreads for you?
