Creating your very own runway-inspired hairstyle can seem difficult, but in reality it's actually pretty easy. A low-key updo like this one, as seen at the Ginger and Smart SS14 show in Australia, not only looks amazing but is also really accessible in styling terms. It's just a minimalist chignon with a center part and a few deliberate flyaways.
This whole 'catwalk beauty' thing might not be so complicated after all...
What you need:
Tail comb
Hair elastic
Bobby pins
Advanced Hairstyle LOCK IT Bold Control Hairspray
Step one: Brush or comb your hair through before you start then define a center part with a tail comb.
Step two: Gather all of the hair together at the nape of your neck, as if you were going to tie it into a really low pony. Instead, twist it into a tight bun and secure with a hair tie. Keep the tension of the hair between your head and the bun quite slack.
Step three: Roll the bun towards the back of your head until the elastic is covered, and you have a rolled-up chignon and the sides have twisted slightly inward. Secure with bobby pins.
Step four: Tease a few strands of hair loose to frame your face and give the style a more relaxed feel. Use your fingertips to loosen and adjust wherever needed then mist with hairspray to finish.
This kind of hairstyle looks great with subtle hair accessories or can be worn just as it is, it's all up to you. Happy styling!
